Partners Program

The IRSC2019 Partners Program has been designed to give those accompanying partners to the IRSC 2019 conference an unforgettable experience of natural beauty of Australia’s sunniest capital city, Perth and its surrounds. Perth offers a stunning mix of famed natural beauty, iconic wildlife and culinary prowess found nestled in an abundance of sun and warmth and the IRSC 2019 Partners Program capitalises on what the area has on show with a program of daily sightseeing tours and activities.

Accompanying conference delegate partner’s can also network with international rail experts by attending the Welcome Reception, Gala Dinner and Farewell Function.

Those who register for the Partners Program are not eligible to attend the conference sessions or technical site tours. The conference sessions and technical site tours are limited to conference delegates.

Welcome Reception, City of Perth Surf Life Saving Club

Half Day morning tour to Penguin Island
7.45am – 2.00pm

Catch a ferry to Penguin Island in the heart of the ruggedly spectacular Shoalwater Islands Marine Park, which is surrounded with white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters. You will explore the Island with your Chief Explorer as you discover limestone caves, lookout points and of course, the star attraction – the wildlife. Enjoy a cruise to see wild dolphins and rare Australian sea lions before getting up close with the world’s smallest penguins, complete with a penguin feeding show and talk by a friendly park ranger.

Gala Dinner, Sandalford Wines, Caversham
5.00pm – 10.30pm

Pinnacles & Lobster Shack Day Tour
8.00am – 5.30pm

Today you will walk amongst the amazing rock formations of The Pinnacles Desert, meet the koalas and kangaroos of Yanchep National Park and surf down the Lancelin Sand Dunes! After your wildlife encounter at Yanchep National Park, you’ll visit The Pinnacles, a desert landscape filled with strange rock formations (often described as a ‘Moonscape’). Your Chief Explorer will guide you through the desert, with plenty of time for photos, and the Pinnacles Discovery Centre before a tour and lunch at the Lobster Shack Factory. The day will also include a visit to the Lancelin Sand Dunes where you will have the option to climb and slide down sand dunes on sandboards while enjoying ocean views.

Half Day Swan Valley Tasting and Caversham Wildlife Park
8.30am – 2.30pm

The Swan Valley is Western Australia’s oldest wine growing region and as welcoming as the warm sun that ripens the grapes or the koalas that you will cuddle at Caversham Wildlife Park. The day will include the opportunity to feed kangaroos, take selfies with a koala, meet a wombat and lots more before enjoying the region’s culinary delights. You will visit and enjoy tastings at Yahava Koffee Works, Whistlers Chocolate company, Mondo Nougat and Morish Nuts and the House of Honey before enjoying a drink with lunch at Mandoon Estate’s Homestead Brewery restaurant overlooking the vineyard and returning to the Hyatt.

Farewell Gathering – The Rooftop at The Lucky Shag

Rottnest Island Day Tour with Island Coach Tour
8.00am – 7.00pm

Rottnest Island is one the most visited places in Western Australia and home to the happiest little animals on earth – the Rottnest Island quokka! You will explore the village area with your guide to find out about the history of the Island and the rich ecosystems and wildlife within them before enjoying a tour onboard the Discover Rottnest bus and lunch at Thomsons overlooking the bay. After lunch there will be free time to explore the area around the bay, kick back on the soft sand beaches and see the abundant marine life or just relax in the outdoor bar at Rottnest Hotel overlooking the bay.

Half Day Surf or Turf
To finish an exciting week of local highlights and delights, today you will have the opportunity to choose between a surf or turf experience. Nominate your selection at the time of booking.

Surf
8.30am – 3.00pm

Learn to surf at Scarborough Beach with the Scarborough Beach Surf School, the world’s oldest surf school at the heart of Western Australia’s Sunset Coast – this is a “must see” destination for all visitors to Perth. The sandbanks at Scarborough Beach create the best conditions for learning to surf in the Perth Metro area, and the waves are famous for being suitable for surfers of all abilities. This lesson is designed for those wanting to ‘test the waters’ with surfing, or for those looking for another thing to tick off the bucket list!

Turf
10.15am – 3.00pm

Experience a fun and social live cooking class at a much-loved Perth Cooking School. You’ll chop, dice and sizzle using locally-sourced, fresh products to create a delicious flame-grilled BBQ feast. To finish, you’ll dine around long tables and enjoy a taste of Australia. Create memories and discover new flavours to take home with you!

NB: All tours include lunch and will depart from and return to the Hyatt Regency Perth
